The WPL 2025 would be hosted in four places, BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla said on Sunday, January 12. This year’s women’s franchise league sites will be in Mumbai, Lucknow, Bengaluru, and Vadodara.

The Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 would be held in four locations, BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla said on Sunday, January 12. This year’s tournament locations will be in Mumbai, Vadodara, Lucknow, and Bengaluru. WPL 2025 is slated to begin in the first week of February.

Previously, the BCCI shortlisted Lucknow and Vadodara as prospective WPL 2025 destinations. However, during the Governing Council meeting on Sunday, it was determined that the competition will take place at different sites.

Mr. Shukla confirmed the news to Sportstar, stating that the Mumbai leg will be played at the Brabourne Stadium.

“It will take place at four different sites. “The Mumbai leg will be played at Brabourne Stadium,” Shukla announced.

The large fanbases in Mumbai and Bengaluru played a role in their inclusion on the list of venues. The last time both cities hosted the WPL, the stadiums were filled. The league will use a caravan style this year, with the competition beginning in Mumbai.

The competition would then go to Lucknow before continuing to Bengaluru. The tournament’s final will be place at the newly built Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara. The stadium is around 20 km from the city and recently held an ODI series between India’s women’s team and the West Indies. The arena is presently holding the Vijay Hazare Trophy’s knockout phase.

The WPL 2023 edition was held entirely in Mumbai, as opposed to Bengaluru and Delhi the previous year.
