The third Test of the current Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 concluded in a tie. Both Australia and India faced off at the Gabba in Brisbane after the series was tied, with India winning the first Test and Australia winning the second.
With three Tests completed, there have been numerous standout performances during the series. The majority of these have been the exploits of ace hitter Travis Head. Head has been in outstanding form thus far, proving to be a nightmare for the Indian squad.
Despite great knocks, Head failed to score significantly in the second innings in Brisbane. The commentators also mentioned that Head had some probable groin difficulties when dashing between the wickets. Talking about it, Head focused on his injury predicament and indicated that there was nothing to worry about.
“I am quite delighted with my current batting performance. Just a bit sore, but I’ll be OK (before the next game),” Head remarked at the post-game presentation ceremony.
Travis Head was removed in the second innings for 17 runs after scoring 152 in the first. When asked about the characteristics of the pitch, Head said it was a difficult wicket and that he was pleased with his combination with Steve Smith in the opening innings.
“This is a challenging wicket. I needed to work through the gears. I had other intentions, and I was glad I was able to complete them. Good collaboration with (Steve) Smith. Just attempt to summarise the situations well. What I’ve done well in this series is evaluate the conditions. I am pleased with the speed with which I have batted. Communication is rather relaxed. It seemed like he was back in his groove, and he offers me complete freedom and confidence knowing he’ll be there for a long time. “I feel like I’m playing the situation in front of me,” Head explained.
