Despite a valiant effort from Pakistan, they fell short in their pursuit of 183 runs. Mohammad Rizwan, the Pakistan captain, top-scored with a fighting 74 runs, but the lack of significant contributions from other batsmen hampered their chase. The South African bowlers, led by Linde, displayed disciplined bowling and contained the Pakistan batsmen throughout the innings.
With the series just beginning, this victory provides South Africa with a crucial advantage. However, Pakistan has a proven track record of bouncing back in multi-match series. The second T20I promises to be an exciting encounter as Pakistan seeks to level the series.
