With her and Junior at the top of our order, I think we have arguably the most experienced and talented opening pairing in the WBBL.”

Beams also noted the strategic significance of retaining Lee, particularly with the team holding the number one pick in the WBBL Draft. “She provided us with great versatility with our overseas pre-signing,” Beams explained. “Given that we had the number one pick in the draft, it made sense for us to pre-sign someone who we know can play a crucial role for us.”

As Lee continues her WBBL career with the Hurricanes, her combination of batting strength, wicketkeeping skill, and leadership promises to be a key asset for the team as they strive for success in the upcoming season.

Former India bowling coach Paras Mhambrey has underscored the crucial need for Mayank Yadav to increase his bowling workload, particularly given his age and potential. Despite being a standout performer in the IPL 2024 season, where he impressed with his pace and skill, Yadav has been notably absent from the cricketing scene since then. While it was anticipated that he might participate in the Delhi Premier League campaign, the young pacer is not featuring in the tournament, raising concerns about his development and readiness.

Mhambrey, who has extensive experience working with bowlers at the international level, emphasized that young bowlers like Yadav need to bowl extensively to build their strength and readiness for higher levels of competition. According to Mhambrey, gaining experience through varied conditions and consistent practice is essential for developing the resilience required for international cricket.

“When you play a season, you gain a deeper understanding of your bowling capabilities. You bowl in different conditions and face physical challenges that test your endurance,” Mhambrey explained. “Sometimes, you may find yourself on the field for extended periods, such as six sessions in a day. Being able to maintain the same level of intensity throughout, especially in the latter stages of a session, is crucial. This not only builds physical stamina but also boosts your confidence for international matches. I firmly believe that Mayank needs to immerse himself in the domestic season and push through these rigorous training sessions.”
